I strongly support fair strong parkland dedication fees and would oppose any effort to weaken or reduce them during the Land Development Code update or at any other time. It is entirely fair to ask new development to assist with the needs for parks that come with the development.

As noted above, as a Council Member, I played a key role in initiating a long overdue update to the fees. It is critical that we evaluate these fees every three years, as the development environment changes quickly, and look for opportunities to realign and strengthen them.
