Many low-income families and persons experiencing homelessness have debt to the utility companies, which are now barriers to their ability to securing housing. Would you support increasing debt forgiveness programs for 3-4 years to help more people access housing? (Y/N/Explain)

While I support the concept of debt forgiveness I also believe it’s crucial that we seek to prevent the debt from accruing. Some methods of prevention include programs that make people’s homes more energy efficient, address the need for education with you utility and water usage as well as maximizing consumer access to grants and other funding assistance.
