I did not support the soccer stadium on McKalla place and believe that the site had potential for better
uses that could have added much needed density to the City. Additionally, I thought there were other city
owned land options that would have been more appropriate. That said, what’s done is done and now what
we have to focus on is how to make the best of it. More affordable options for underrepresented kids for
opportunities for physical activities and the positive benefits of team sports is one way. More in the way
of giving to the community is another reconciliation I would seek.
