With your knowledge of Austin Energy, do you believe that the City should retain control of Austin Energy or should Austin Energy be sold to a private operator or be operated as an independent enterprise? Please explain your answer.

City Council, District 1

The City should maintain control of Austin Energy as a public utility, but I would be open to creating a
separate oversight body with better expertise from the industry and community, similar to the model
followed by San Antonio and CPS energy.
