Dockless bikes and scooters offer another opportunity for people to move around without requiring an automobile. This experiment potentially offers additional support for transforming our city into a more walkable and livable urban area. If done correctly, I also believe dockless mobility can support development of our future transit system, by offering options for people to connect to high-capacity transit.
Safety, primarily for pedestrians on sidewalks, is the most concerning issue for the city to address about dockless scooters. The accident rate is alarming and the city must come together to identify safe pathways for scooters.
