Dockless scooters need to play a greater role in underserved areas of Austin that have a limited access to public transportation (eg. Springfield Gardens). We need to have specific dropoff stations for scooters so that they don’t get in the way of people (eg. our handicapped population). Our police need to do a better job of enforcing traffic laws for scooter drivers who fail to abide by the rules of the road and we need to implement curfews (as well as breathalyzers) in order to reduce the impact that drunk scootering has on our streets.
