Affordability is the ability to reasonably make ends meet in our community. The city can help in two ways: either making things cost less (like with the millions of dollars the 10/1 Council has moved to the Housing Trust Fund) or helping folks to make more (like with the first ever regional workforce development plan just adopted and the re-write of the Chapter 380 ordinance). As concerns housing, affordability reflects the relationship between income and housing cost so that someone is not spending more than 30% of their income on housing.
