This will require much work and planning. We need to establish a task force made up of community, business, and nonprofit leaders to examine how we can better invest in social services through our existing nonprofit network. Non-governmental funding is there to adequately support our nonprofit network–but we must do a better job harnessing the time, talents, and funding already available in our community to address the disparities and inequities that have the capacity to undermine our flourishing city. This is a caring city. We can all do more to help out one another.
