The City of Austin has multiple examples of contracts in which it has sold or leased its land. In certain circumstances – such as if the parcel is designated parkland, for example, the proposal must go to the voters, and I certainly would support that process. Although I would not support putting many sale/lease proposals to a vote, in all cases, I support those decisions happening within a transparent public process in which Austin voters have opportunities to participate and provide feedback.
