My vision of high capacity transit in Austin immediately includes increasing road efficiency by addressing bottlenecks, replacing lights with flyovers, and building more decks on major roadways. Roads is where the money needs to be spent first as we have been and are in a traffic crisis. Only after roads have been properly addressed can we then discuss a way to augment roadway travel with a visionary form of non-vehicular people transport which is not a rail form of transport, but something smarter along the lines of driverless cars/trams which would suit Austin’s creative and forward looking mindset.
