Moving forward on updating Austin’s land development code I feel keeping things as simple as possible for the business community, startups and small businesses is the answer. I believe we can look to other cities which have a reasonable development code. I do not believe in hindering commerce with burdensome regulation. The code needs to be clearly defined and not obscure. The business community has told me that ” We do not mind following the rules, as long as we know what the rules are “. In Austin under Adler this has not been the case.
