As you know, the City unsuccessfully tried to change the code, what do you believe needs to be done differently to achieve a better code? Will you support working to revise the land development code to provide and allow for predictability and deep affordability? (Y/N; Explain)

Reedy Macque Spigner III

City Council, District 1

Yes.The land development code is important and should provide a clear, comprehensive blueprint to land use in Austin and how business entities should navigate the development process. I advocate a smaller process over a comprehensive one-time, six-year rewrite. I believe the research collected during the Code Next process can yielding important insight into solutions moving forward. With the information we have obtained the council can amend existing zoning ordinances to achieve some goals of the rewrite. Working closely with neighborhood planning units council can also identify other solutions.
