Before I took office, our school lunch program was failing in its mission to help keep kids healthy. That’s why I launched our Farm Fresh program to connect Texas farmers and ranchers, schools, child care providers and local communities with tools and resources available through the Texas Department of Agriculture. The goal of Farm Fresh is to increase awareness of the vital role agriculture plays in our lives, as agriculture is the key to improving the wellness of our children & communities.
