I will fight for every budget dollar possible for our public education system – we simply have not invested enough for our current population, let alone for growth for the future. I would also support legislation providing for all-day Pre-K and more accessible community colleges, technical, and vocational schools. Lastly, though very important to AISD, I am committed to examining and revising the recapture formula to put an end to the situation where our school district is sending half a billion dollars out across the state despite a majority of our students taking free or reduced lunch.
