As a combat veteran and gun owner, I know that the gun violence epidemic is the greatest threat to our Second Amendment rights. We must approach gun violence in our country as a public health concern and allow the CDC to research it as such. I support, as do around 90% of Americans, background checks for all gun purchases. As a survivor of gun-related domestic violence, I will work to increase protections for victims of domestic violence, and will support universal background checks and more strenuous training requirements for certain weapons.
