I believe that the City should continue to partner with the private sector on innovative approaches to civic challenges to leverage the private sector’s depth of knowledge, as well as the outside perspective they bring to the table.

One of the most important efforts on this topic was approving the Innovation Office, which I supported. This office has worked with stakeholders from the public and private sectors to use iterative co-creation methods to bring a fresh perspective to complex municipal challenges. Going forward, I would like to explore opportunities for engaging more of our departments on this collaborative approach to solving problems and improving programs and services.
