We have to safeguard protections for those living with pre-existing conditions, bring prescription drug prices down, and every Texan should be able to see a doctor whether they’re rich or poor, young or old, or have pre-existing conditions or not. I’ve worked in healthcare finance for 15 years. I know how the market works. The more people are covered, the lower everyone’s costs are. You already pay for everyone’s healthcare — you just do it in the most inefficient, expensive way. A guaranteed universal healthcare system is not only the right thing to do, it’s fiscally responsible.
