To address affordability, we are going to need an all the above strategy. On one end, we will need to preserve current and build more income restricted properties, create greater protections for renters, establish more community land trusts, revamp of density bonus program, and continue to look for funds to accomplish our housing goals. While on the other, we need a new land code that will allow us to build more housing types in more place across the city, streamline our permitting process, decrease parking requirements, and increase height limits from multifamily developments.
