I start with my personal story. Immigrants make up many of the folks in my life, be they documented or not. These are also the folks I’ve been working with for the past decade. I am only stronger because of relationships with them. Their truths, lives, hopes, aspirations, and dreams need to be more widely shared so we can all recognize they are the same as ours. It is hard to hate someone when you realize they are just like you. My story is proof of that.
