I support continued investment into the health facilities in the City of Austin, I support the paid sick leave ordinance, and I support the Healthy Austin goals from the Imagine Austin plan. Health is multifaceted, not only must we focus on healthcare, but also healthy living. We need to address the issue of food deserts in East Austin, and make sure we provide public spaces which promote healthy living. We should increase the health services provided at Overton Elementary; it is normally one day per week. In addition to providing health services in the Eastern crescent, improved mass transit will help with getting to and from desired destinations.
