As a young child, I grew up reading and watching videos about the Civil Rights movement. I learned about pioneers such as Ralph Abernathy, Rosa Parks, Thurgood Marshall, Martin Luther King Jr., and others. Although the Democratic Party was not perfect, it was President Lyndon Baines Johnson that signed into law the Civil Rights legislation of the 1960s and appointed Thurgood Marshall to the Supreme Court of the United States. I believe in the values democrats hold and strongly support their focus of creating a government that works for everyone.
