How can we maximize transit ridership and decrease reliance on cars?

You increase ridership and decrease reliance on cars by improving the transit experience and transit efficiency. Improving the transit experience by decreasing wait times; providing more comfortable wait stops with at least seating, preferably covering from heat or rain; providing safe routes to wait stops will help increase ridership and decrease reliance on cars.

Improving transit efficiency would make routes more frequent, making routes faster through dedicated lanes, and improving overall congestion through smart technology would help increase ridership and decrease reliance on cars. Multiple forms of mass transit should be considered as we look to improve transportation.
