I support the cities continued support of the nonprofit network to serve our community. The city needs to continue to ensure that our funds are going where they are most needed, and are being used the most effectively. We need to evaluate our current and past funding, and make sure we are seeing results and ensure that any investments we make are equitable. Underserved communities must see tangible benefits and investments from these nonprofits, because the disparities and inequalities cannot be addressed if we are not using the funds we provide wisely. The City should also ensure that nonprofits of all sizes have a fair opportunity to complete for these dollars.
