I applaud ATA’s efforts to encourage and work with the City of Austin to “break up with paper”. Building upon the paper census, let’s make a plan with S.M.A.R.T. goals to modernize all city proceses. This will only be successful when it has meaningful engagement from both the city staff and the community. While there should be a common framework for this process, the specific steps and approach will vary based upon the operation. Regardless of the approach, it must be ‘beta-tested’ to identify what is working and what needs to be adjusted.
