We need to educate students as individuals and acknowledge that the same curriculum or educational environment won’t necessarily meet the needs of each individual student. Texas needs an ‘all-of-the-above’ approach to education, which is why I support public schools, private schools, charter schools, or homeschooling… in addition to a robust slate of post-secondary options (including trade and technical education) for those students who choose not to attend college. Fundamentally, I strongly believe that parents deserve to be at the center of any decisions made about their child’s education.
