As a physician, I believe we need to support and expand our state’s aging mental health system and ensure that all Texans have access to the mental health care they need. We also need to do more to ensure that our teachers and public schools have the resources necessary to educate our children and prepare them for future success. Finally, we need to make a concerted effort to shore up the state pension systems for our retired teachers and state employees and ensure that these funds are actually sound and sustainable for future retirees.
