The implementation of electronic court filings in our judicial system has significantly helped the state’s indigent criminal defense and civil pro bono programs. Now, attorneys can file motions and appeals without the concern that the clerk’s office closes at 5pm. Lawyers can access dockets and serve documents electronically at any time. We need to continue to work to advance these technologies to ensure free access to court records and to increase transparency at all levels of our judiciary.
