Decriminalizing cannabis is a highly important issue in the 86th legislative session, in which ending its prohibition would naturally free our prisons of many non-violent offenders. I will draft and/or support legislation to end the prohibition of cannabis and expunge the records of those who have been convicted previously. Erasing criminal records from these non-violent offenders will allow more people to obtain gainful employment, providing a positive impact on the Texas economy.
