If developers don’t pay their share of fees to the city, then those fees fall upon tax payers. Increased property taxes lead to an increase in rent, which continues to make our city unaffordable. Having developers pay their share of property taxes, along with other fees to the city is one way to keep Austin affordable for the general public.
