The tech community needs to offer scholarships as well as internships to students in AISD who demonstrate proficiency and a willingness to succeed in the tech industry.  We also need a knowledgeable and fully staffed department within the City of Austin that helps foster the development of our students so that they have the tools to acquire real world experience that cannot be taught in a classroom.  The creation of highly qualified employees at such a young age will help spur Austin as a technological leader and drive city wide programs that would otherwise be stuck in a planning loop.
