How can we maximize transit ridership and decrease reliance on cars?

Steve Adler

We need more homes along and near major corridors to make transit work. We can look at other ways to incentivize transit use by using tools like parking requirements. Managed lanes on highways are one way to make transit more appealing. We need more dedicated lanes to keep buses moving. We also need to make alternatives to cars cheaper, more reliable, and more efficient. Last mile solutions also contribute to transit’s appeal. We should be creative and open to unique ways to get more people riding transit.
