What can the city do to lower average rents or at least decrease the rate of growth of average rents?

The city can provide more funding for subsidized housing while also allowing more housing in more places. Supply and Demand is real. The Austin Housing Conservancy, a private fund set up to preserve workforce housing, is a new model with some promise. We need more and better density bonus programs. We need to pass the affordable housing bond in November, and we need to update the land development code.
