Yes. Yes. We need a better process that will engender more trust in the community. I’m not sure what that process should be and I don’t want to pre-judge or seem to direct the City Manager’s assignment at this time. There are many different ways to re-write the land development code. In our attempt, we weren’t able to find the path to achieve consensus. Having been all over the city, engaging in hundreds of neighborhood and stakeholder meetings, I’m still convinced that there is a consensus solution that could be identified and described but that was just outside our reach. We have much more common ground on this issue than many people think. A final product needs to achieve both greater predictability and deeper affordability.
