As someone who is running for office, I am excited about ATA’s informed voter project. The city can better work with Austin’s tech community to bring innovative approaches to civic challenges by:

• Continuing to engage the tech community to solve social problems through for example hackathons and similar activities (e.g. ATX Hack For Change).
• Continue to work with the City of Austin Office of Innovation office
• Exploring ways to facilitate voter registration (e.g. creating apps with unregistered voters to facilitate voter registration).
• Exploring ways to bring into City hall through the use of technology the voices of people that are home-bound and people who are working traditional – or non-traditional hours and may have a hard time participating in City Hall’s decision-making.
