My commitments include: DREAM Act; Ending family detention and closing private immigration detention centers; Preventing ICE from contracting with for-profit prison corporations; Crafting bills that explicitly create policies calling for detaining and deporting only those individuals who pose a violent threat to public safety and that ensure that refugees who seek asylum in the U.S. have a fair chance to tell their stories; Protecting the DACA and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) programs; Expanding eligibility to new categories which includes creating a route to citizenship through employment.
