Raising the State share of the funding for public ed and increasing the base funding (basic allotment) for every student in the state so all students have the resources they need to meet their full potential.  Also, amendments to the school accountability structure so that it is more fair. Currently, schools with greater challenges are being unfairly compared to dissimilar schools and penalized for educating children with greater needs.  In addition, more resources are needed for wrap-around services and mental health counselors to fully realize the benefits of a “community schools” model.
