I have been actively involved in Democratic politics and have helped push progressive policies at the local level for 13 years. In 2005, I started working at Austin City Hall, where I worked as a policy advisor for three Democratic-affiliated council members (Mayor Pro Tem Kathie Tovo, Council Member Laura Morrison and Council Member Jennifer Kim). Over the years, I have been very involved in Democratic groups around town (esp. Stonewall), and I have served a Democratic precinct chair. I have only ever voted in Democratic primaries, and I do my best to volunteer for progressive candidates, whenever feasible.
