In 2017 I led the Fair Chance Tx coalition that stopped 76 Republicans from getting HB577 to the floor for a 2nd reading in the House. HB577 was introduced to overturn and rescind the Austin Fair Chance Hiring ordinance and would have precluded any other city in Texas from passing any like legislation. I was the Political Director of the Second Chance Democrats, the democratic club that lobbied for FCH in Austin.
