Solutions to homelessness exist – they require scaling up social services and housing programs, including the pathways from shelter to housing. To date, Austin has not identified adequate funding to address this challenge. How would you work to identify the funding needed?

Prop A will certainly help provide resources for more low income housing, especially in the 0-30% MFI range. The bond resources must be leveraged with resources identified in the ECHO report. In 2019, we must continue the conversations begun in 2017 with the Mayor’s ‘Downtown Puzzle’ to find sustainable revenue sources to fund these critically needed programs.
